Frequently Asked Questions

FAQs

Q: How long have you been painting pets?

A: I’ve been painting pets since September of 2018 and have practiced art for as long as I can remember. I’ve been drawing and sketching and doodling and painting for over 20 years and got seriously involved with it 5 years ago.

Q: How do I order a painting through you?

A: Super simple! You order here and fill out a form. Once that is done, I will send you an email to confirm, as well as request some photos for the portrait. After that, we set up payment and I get to work!

Q: What photos do I need to send you?

A: Sooo, there are good and bad photos. In most of my portraits, I paint the chest + head of the pet. A well lit, hi-resolution photo with a good shot of their face does best, where I can clearly see their eyes, eye color, and face shape. See below for an example:

GOOD PHOTO! Not only is it cute and full of personality, but I can clearly see the fur color(s), eye color, and the shape of the pet’s face because of good camera and light quality!

BAD PHOTO!As cute as this picture is, I cannot see the pet’s eyes, most of the body is cut off, and the colors are hard to differentiate due to poor camera and light quality.

If you’re unsure of what makes a good photo, I will accept any, but please bear in mind that I reference highly off photographs and I may not be able to represent your pet to the best extent if the photos can’t capture them. Sending me many photos does help if you can’t decide, and I will confirm with you the best one to go with before I begin if you don’t state a preference!

Q: How do I pay?

A: I will send you an invoice via paypal, which gives you the option to pay with your account or with your card. Please let me know if you have any issues and I will be sure to help you!

Q: How long does a painting take?

A: It really depends on the size, medium, and animal. Some pets are harder to paint than others (doodle dogs for example) so I make sure to take a little longer if it ensures the perfect piece. On average, a painting can take 1 to 2 weeks to complete and ship.

Q: What if I can’t afford to pay all up front?

A: No worries! I accept payment options for orders over $150. If your order is under that amount and you still need a payment option, just let me know. I’m happy to work with you! The entire order must be paid in full before I ship it. If you need more time, I will hold your painting until the order is paid! :)

Q: How large of a piece will you paint?

A: Pretty much as big as you want. Just keep in mind that larger orders require more money to package and ship.

Q: Do you work on my painting immediately?

A: That depends. I book many pieces in advance and I don’t always have an immediate spot open to begin your work right away.

Q: How far in advance do I need to book a painting?

A: It never hurts to book a couple months in advance to be safe or to check to see if my nearest opening for a new order. I sometimes have orders booked in advance and sometimes I don’t (and I try to keep you all updated on that the best I can!). Take into account that it takes a day on average to receive and confirm your order, and another week or two to complete the order, in addition to however many portraits I may have lined up.
